Worship at Holy Cross Monastery

At Holy Cross Monastery we find deep meaning in the turn of the hours; in the flow of the seasons. These cycles remind us of God's constant love and grace.

We encourage guests to participate with us in the pattern of our days, which reflect the natural cycles, as a way of refreshing the spirit and growing in faith.

Many guests discover a sense of contentment and peace in our lifestyle. This infuses their lives and work with an orderliness that leads to more caring relationships and greater effectiveness in their life and faith.

As dawn breaks over the Hudson
the community gathers for Matins

Central to our life of faith is the experience of worship. We invite you to share with us in regularly scheduled services.

We begin the day with Matins and during the morning we celebrate the Holy Eucharist. At noon, we gather again in the church for Diurnum and our work day closes with Vespers. After dinner, we participate in Compline in anticipation of God's care through the night.
