The Holy Cross Monastic Breviary
A Monastic Breviary, published in 1976, presents the Daily Office according to the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer. It organizes the Psalter in a two week cycle, distributing them in four offices (Matins, Diurnum, Vespers and Compline). Proper and common antiphons and hymns are provided for the liturgical seasons and observances of the Church. Sunday antiphons are taken from the BCP Eucharistic lectionary, and the Daily Office lectionary readings are noted in a special section. Propers and commons are provided for the saints and other days observed in the Holy Cross liturgical tradition, as well as lessons for use when traveling. Used together with OHC's online Ordo, A Monastic Breviary enables the complete observance of daily monastic prayer in the Anglican Benedictine tradition. (469 pages, hardcover).

St. Augustine's Prayer Book
Saint Augustine's Prayer Book, revised in 1967 by Fr. Loren Gavitt, is a book of traditional Anglo-Catholic devotions. It includes brief forms of the Daily Office, preparations for the Eucharist and for Penance. It includes Visits to the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction, Stations of the Cross and prayers for many occasions, including special sections for for the dying and the dead. Notable are Devotions to the Holy Trinity, the Holy Ghost, the Sacred Heart, the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph and the Holy Angels; Litanies of the Holy Name of Jesus, the Precious Blood, the Church, the Saints, for Mission and for Social Justice; and Novenas for Christmas, the Holy Ghost and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Special services include a Visit to the Christmas Crib, a Devotion to the Passion, and a form for the Holy Hour. Orders may be submitted either by phone or email. To order one or more books, please provide your name, address, phone number, credit card number, and credit card expiration date to one of the brothers by phone (845-384-6660 extension 3004) during store hours (our preferred method of receiving orders) or via email to bookstore at hcmnet.org (our safe and secure email address). We do not bill orders or accept checks for mailed books. Please allow at least two weeks to receive your order, although most are processed and mailed within a day or two.
