Sunday, May 20, 7 PM: Bach Cantata No. 163, Nur jedem das Seine
Kairos’ Bach Cantata Series is beginning its seventh year and continues to receive rave reviews! The Cantata is sung within the context of an evensong service and accompanied by chamber orchestra. The services are open to the public and there is a $10 suggested donation to help support the series, which is funded entirely through your generous support.
Contemplative Prayer Group
Each Tuesday evening, people convenes in the crypt (St Michael Chapel) underneath our church for an hour of contemplative prayer. The group prays in silence the first half hour and and hears a reading about contemplative prayer for the second half hour with questions and answers. If you’d like to participate, feel free to contact Br. Julian Mizelle, OHC
Education for Ministry Group
Each Thursday evening, a group of fellow students meet a the monastery with their EfM Mentors. Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. EfM offers an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service. If you’d like to participate, feel free to contact The Rev. Teri Jones.
Kairos – the Monastery’s Artists in Residence
Holy Cross Monastery is proud to have Kairos: A Consort of Singers as Artists-in-Residency. Our very own Br. Scott is a member of this group. They preform a well-attended “Bach Vespers” service regularly at the monastery in which a different Cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach is performed in the context of a choral Evensong service. These concert worship services are free to the public, though a freewill offering is gratefully accepted.
